Man dumps wife after seeing Web
prophecy
A Xi'an resident divorced his wife of three years
after logging on to an online fortune-telling website.
Ma, 27, of
Shaanxi Province, led a simple and happy life with his wife until the day he
went into this website that told him his wife would bring bad luck to him and
his family. Ma hastily filed for a divorce. Ironically, his former wife has
re-married and is leading a good life and it is Ma who has lost his job and is
in a mess.
Recently, he went public with his story so others could learn
from it and not rush into impulsive decisions.
Live scorpions
keep migrant worker going
A middle-aged migrant worker from
Dalian, Liaoning, has developed a bizarre taste - for live scorpions. Wei
Qinglin, 37, said, "the stronger, the better."
Wei tasted his first
scorpion in 1998. "I feel sleepy all day if I go without them. I feel more
energetic after eating them," he said. "I have to eat them because I feel cold
all day all year round." He also told local media on Friday that he recovered
from a venomous snake bite last year, without going in for any treatment.
