>Trump suffers twin setbacks
US President Donald Trump suffered twin setbacks on Tuesday with two ex-advisers facing prison sentences - and one of them saying Trump told him to commit a crime - possibly hurting his Republican Party's election prospects and widening a criminal probe that has overshadowed his presidency. Within minutes of each other in separate courts, former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort was found guilty on tax and bank fraud charges, while Trump's former personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, pleaded guilty to a range of charges. Cohen also testified that Trump directed him to commit a crime by arranging payments ahead of the 2016 presidential election to silence two women who said they had had affairs with Trump.

>Harry and Meghan's mini-moon
Prince Harry and bride Meghan Markle have enjoyed a secret getaway with George and Amal Clooney at the A-list couple's exclusive Italian retreat on Lake Como. Local police helped to mount a huge operation to ensure the royal newlyweds remained secure during their visit to the 18th century Villa Oleandra, according to media reports in Italy. According to Italian magazine Chi, Meghan helped look after the couple's 14-month-old twins while Harry and George spent their time playing basketball with other friends. The Duke and Duchess and the Clooneys are understood to be close friends and Meghan and Amal are both said to use celebrity stylist Miguel Perez. The Clooneys were among the 200 guests who partied the night away at Frogmore House to celebrate the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding earlier this year.

>Minister bikes to labor room
New Zealand's Minister for Women Julie Anne Genter has taken the cycle of life to a whole new level, biking her way to hospital for the birth of her first child. Genter, a Green Member of Parliament and keen cyclist, chose pedal power for Sunday's 1 km journey from her home to Auckland City Hospital for the delivery. "My partner and I cycled because there wasn't enough room in the car for the support crew... but it also put me in the best possible mood!" she posted on social media alongside a picture of her with her bike. Genter announced later on Facebook that she'd given birth Tuesday evening to a healthy boy weighing nearly 4.3 kg.
