新游戏'中国式家长'走红
"Chinese Parents", a new life simulation game in Mandarin, is gaining popularity and praise among players for the way it mirrors real life. The main task of the game is centered on helping children enter a better school of higher quality, a demanding challenge for many Chinese parents. The biggest draw is perhaps its reflection of real life in China, with many episodes inspired by daily life, such as the importance of "saving" and "giving" face in Chinese culture or pretending to refuse New Year red envelopes from others. The game has risen to second place on the sales chart of popular online game platform STEAM for the week ending Oct 14, getting likes from 88% of players. Insiders said the game is popular because the child-parent relationship strikes a chord with many Chinese and it is also well made.

英任命首位防自杀大臣
British Prime Minister Theresa May appointed junior health minister Jackie Doyle-Price the country's first ever Minister for Suicide Prevention in an effort to cut the number of people taking their own lives. According to the British government, about 4,500 people take their own lives each year in England and suicide remains the leading cause of death for men under 45. The prime minister also announced other plans to tackle suicide problems in Britain. New government funding up to 1.8 million pounds will be raised to "help ensure the charity can continue to provide immediate and lifesaving support to everyone who needs it, 24 hours a day," the government said. The government also has promised to train a million people in mental health awareness, publish a "State of the Nation" report every year starting in 2019, and provide tools to help schools measure their students' mental wellbeing.

全球最强护照排名出炉
According to the Henley Passport Index, compiled by global citizenship and residence advisory firm Henley & Partners, Japan now has the most powerful passport on the planet. Having gained visa-free access to Myanmar earlier this month, Japanese citizens can now enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to a whopping 190 destinations around the world - knocking Singapore, with 189 destinations, into second place. Germany, which began 2018 in the top spot, is now in third place with 188 destinations, tied with France and South Korea. China is now in 71st place, having climbed 14 places since the start of 2017.

>Jet struck by lightning

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle suffered a mid-air scare after their private jet was struck by lightning, it has been reported. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had been traveling to Amsterdam for a star-studded party on Sept 21. According to the Mail on Sunday, a lightning bolt hit the luxury Dassault Falcon 7X aircraft's nose cone - narrowly missing its radar navigation equipment by mere inches. The bolt sent at least 30 million volts surging through the fuselage, but luckily the plane was able to land safely at Schiphol airport in the Netherlands. The aircraft then underwent vigorous safety checks and repairs for a week.
