Question

Stellar

Example
My neighbour is a good man but he can be moody and has a bad temper. To make things worse, I'm quite an emotional person so I go through a range of emotions throughout the day. The other day, I saw my neighbour in his garden. "Good morning," I said cheerfully. He stared at me, clearly in no mood to chat. "What's so good about it?" he yelled back angrily, losing his temper. Overcome by emotion, I burst into tears and ran back into our house. The whole thing really put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day.

在描述脾气暴躁的邻居时,用到了名词 “temper”:He has a bad temper. 所以,如果想用英语来表达 “我脾气不好”,那么就可以说 “I have a bad temper.” 或 “I am short-tempered.”

He is so laid-back. I've never seen him lose his temper.

He stared at me, clearly in no mood to chat.” 用 “in no mood to chat” 强调邻居 “当时” 心情很不好。

I'm quite an emotional person so I go through a range of emotions throughout the day. 名词 “emotion” 和 “mood” 之间的区别是:“mood” 多指一种持续影响我们 “心境” 的情绪,比如 “心情好 in a good mood”,而 “心情不好” 就是 “in a bad mood”;而 “emotion” 则指表露在外的 “强烈情感”,比如喜、怒、哀、乐。

比如,我们可以说 “I’m an emotional person.”

比如:“I have a bad temper.” 或者 “I have a real temper.”
