>Coca-Cola taps new flavor
可口可乐出橙子香草味
For the first time in more than 10 years, Coca-Cola is introducing a new flavor. The Atlanta-based company recently announced it would be launching Orange Vanilla Coke and Orange Vanilla Coke Zero Sugar. The new products go on sale Feb 25 across the US and will be available in 12-ounce cans and 20-ounce plastic bottles. The brand tried out three other flavors - raspberry, lemon and ginger - but the focus group loved the orange vanilla one the most. "We wanted to bring back positive memories of carefree summer days," Coca-Cola brand director Kate Carpenter said on the company's blog. "That's why we leaned into the orange-vanilla flavor combination - which is reminiscent of the creamy orange popsicles we grew up loving, but in a classically Coke way."

>Actor accused of plagiarism
'学霸'翟天临遭学术打假
Chinese actor Zhai Tianlin, who has a PhD from Beijing Film Academy and is a postdoctoral candidate at Peking University, found himself in hot water recently after allegations of plagiarism. Beijing Film Academy said on Monday that it has organized an investigative team to look into Zhai's case and has zero tolerance for academic misconduct. Zhai raised a flurry of chatter online in August when he said in a live video appearance that he did not know what the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) was. CNKI is the largest and most widely used online academic library in China for university students writing theses and dissertations. A Sina Weibo blogger uploaded a paper by Zhai, which was published in an academic journal, to a plagiarism software platform, and the similarity score for the 2,783-word article was 40.4%. Another post by the same blogger claimed that Zhai's doctoral graduation dissertation could not be found in the CNKI database, while all the graduation dissertations written by his classmates could be found there.
近日,获得北京电影学院博士学位、收到北京大学博士后录取通知的中国男演员翟天临深陷论文剽窃指控风波。北京电影学院11日表示,已成立翟天临事件调查小组,对学术不端行为持零容忍态度。去年8月,翟天临在网络直播中表示不知中国知网为何物,引起网友的热议。中国知网是国内最大、最常用的在线文献库,是大学生写毕业论文时的必备工具。一位新浪微博用户将翟天临发表在某学术期刊上的一篇2783字的文章上传至剽窃软件平台,该文章的查重率为40.4%。该用户发布的另一篇博文指出,翟天临的博士论文未被中国知网数据库收录,而与他同届的其他博士的论文都能在知网上搜到。

女歌手成格莱美大赢家
Kacey Musgraves, Dua Lipa, Cardi B and Lady Gaga were among the big winners at the Grammy Awards, making it a good night for female stars. Country star Musgraves picked up four awards, including album of the year, while Childish Gambino also won four, including record and song of the year. Cardi B made history as the first solo female to win best rap album. British pop star Dua Lipa was named best new artist and paid tribute to the "incredible" line-up of "so many female artists" in the category. Lady Gaga won three prizes, including best pop performance for "Joanne" and best pop duet for "Shallow", from the Oscar-nominated film "A Star Is Born". It was the first year in Grammys history that women had won five of the top album awards - best pop album (Ariana Grande), album of the year and best country album (Musgraves), best R&B album (H.E.R.) and best rap album (Cardi B).

>Holiday spending over RMB1T
春节黄金周消费破万亿
Spending on retail and food services during the Spring Festival period, from Feb 4 to Feb 10 this year, exceeded 1 trillion yuan for the first time, up 8.5% year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Commerce. Shopping, dining out, travel and entertainment accounted for most of the consumer spending during the week-long holiday. Emerging areas for spending such as the internet, customized products, experiences, digital products and services were growth areas during the holiday. Analysts said the strong domestic demand will inject further growth momentum into the economy in 2019 as the government unveils more policies to spur consumption.
商务部数据显示,春节期间(今年2月4日-10日),零售和餐饮企业实现销售额首超一万亿元,同比增长8.5%。在为期一周的春节假日期间,人们大部分的消费花销都集中在购物、外出就餐、旅游和娱乐上。网络、定制产品、体验、数字产品和服务等新兴消费领域是节日期间的增长领域。分析人士称,随着我国政府出台更多政策刺激消费,强劲的内需将为2019年经济注入更多增长动力。
