The billionaire French donors who publicly promised flashy donations totaling hundreds of millions to rebuild Notre Dame have not yet paid a penny toward the restoration of the French national monument, according to church and business officials.

Instead, it's been mainly American and French citizens, via charitable foundations at Notre Dame, that have footed the bills and paid salaries for the up to 150 workers employed by the cathedral after the devastating blaze on April 15.

Over 40% of Greenland experienced melting Thursday, with total ice loss estimated to be more than 2 billion tons on just that day alone.

Nobel Prize winner Tu Youyou's team on Monday announced major scientific breakthroughs in treatment of artemisinin resistance.

The World Malaria Report 2018 published by the World Health Organization said that global malaria control progress has stalled.

Artemisinin resistance and partner drug resistance has been reported in Greater Mekong subregion.

In response to this problem, Tu said that after three years of research, her team found treatment to artemisinin resistance.

"Prolonging the period of taking the medicine, or replacing the partner drug, could solve the problem of resistance," Tu said.
