Prince Harry and his wife Meghan will step back from senior roles in Britain's royal family and spend more time in North America, they said on Wednesday, an announcement that appears to have taken his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth and other royal family members, by surprise.
哈里王子及妻子梅根8日发表声明称，他们将辞去英国王室高级成员身份，在北美度过更多时光，该声明似乎令哈里王子的祖母伊丽莎白女王和其他王室成员非常震惊。

After a turbulent year which saw a widening rift with the media and a falling out with elder brother Prince William, Harry said the couple hoped to become financially independent and set up a new charity, while continuing some royal duties.

China had 260 million motor vehicles by the end of 2019, up 8.83% year on year, including 207 million private cars, the Ministry of Public Security said Tuesday.

The number of new energy vehicles reached 3.81 million last year, said the ministry, and added the increase in the number of new energy vehicles had exceeded 1 million for two consecutive years.
去年我国新能源汽车保有量达381万辆，新能源汽车增量连续两年超过100万辆。

As nearly 29.43 million people received driver's licenses nationwide last year, the total number of drivers reached 435 million, the ministry said.
2019年，全国新领证驾驶人数量接近2943万人，全国机动车驾驶人数量达4.35亿人。

A new virus has caused the pneumonia outbreak in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, which resulted in 59 reported cases in the city as of Sunday, an initial evaluation showed.
湖北省武汉市病毒性肺炎疫情的病原体初步判定是一种新型病毒，截至5日该市共接到59例病毒性肺炎病例报告。

An expert team found a new coronavirus at a lab after analyzing samples collected from the cases, and 15 of them tested positive for the virus, China Central Television reported on Thursday.
据央视8日报道，评估专家组在实验中发现一种新型冠状病毒，通过分析从病例中采集的样本，共检出新型冠状病毒阳性结果15例。

The coronavirus can cause respiratory and intestinal diseases.
冠状病毒会引起呼吸道和肠道疾病。

Of the six coronaviruses known to humans, four are common and less toxic, while the other two can cause severe acute respiratory syndrome and Middle East respiratory syndrome, the report said.

>Ukrainian jet crash kills 176

China on Wednesday expressed deep condolences to the victims of the Ukrainian Airlines plane crash and extended heartfelt sympathies to their families, according to a Foreign Ministry spokesperson. Reports said that a Ukrainian Airlines passenger plane, with 176 people on board, crashed Wednesday morning near Iran's Imam Khomeini International Airport shortly after taking off. All passengers and crew were killed.
据多家媒体报道，8日上午，乌克兰航空公司一架载有176人的客机在伊朗德黑兰霍梅尼国际机场起飞后不久坠毁，机上人员全部遇难。我国外交部发言人耿爽8日表示，中方对遇难者表示沉痛哀悼，对遇难者家属表示深切慰问。

Spokesperson Geng Shuang said China hopes all relevant parties can ascertain the cause of the crash as soon as possible.
希望有关方面能够尽快查清事故原因。

"The Chinese embassy and consulates in Ukraine have already contacted Ukrainian authorities to verify the situation," said Geng, adding that as of now, there is no report of Chinese citizens on the plane.
耿爽表示，坠机事故发生后，中国驻乌克兰使领馆已经联系乌克兰有关部门核实情况，目前尚未收到中国公民乘坐此次航班的通报。
