英王储查尔斯感染新冠

The heir to the British throne, Prince Charles, on Wednesday became the most prominent public figure in the UK to be confirmed as having coronavirus, in a development that raises questions about the risk the virus poses to senior royals.
英国王储查尔斯王子25日成为英国被确诊感染新型冠状病毒的最知名公众人物，这一事态发展引发了有关新冠病毒对王室高级成员构成风险的疑问。

"He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual," Clarence House said.
克拉伦斯宫表示："他有轻微症状，但除此之外健康状况良好，过去几天照常在家工作"。

The prince's wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, had also been tested but did not have the virus, the statement said.

"It is not possible to ascertain from whom the prince caught the virus owing to the high number of engagements he carried out in his public role during recent weeks," the statement added.

The prince's illness raises questions about the potential risk from the virus to his mother, the Queen, who is 93, and the Duke of Edinburgh, her husband, who is 98.

A Chinese research team has achieved "deleting" specific memories of rats in the laboratory recently through a genome editing technique, and published a paper on the findings on the Science Advances website.
近日，北京大学神经科学研究所研究团队利用基因编辑技术，在实验大鼠的脑中实现特定记忆的精准删除，相关研究成果发表于《科学进展》网站上。

The research team from the Neuroscience Research Institute of Peking University adopted the genome editing technique based on clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats, or CRISPR, to successfully wipe off fear memory of rats in the experiment.
该研究团队采用CRISPR基因编辑技术，成功删除了实验中大鼠的恐惧记忆。

The memory of negative emotions is of great significance for survival, but such memory would become a burden when it cannot be forgotten, which might cause pathological diseases, such as post-traumatic stress syndrome, said Yi Ming, a researcher in the experiment and co-author of the paper.
论文作者之一、参与实验的研究员伊鸣表示，负性情绪的记忆对生存有重要意义，但如果这类记忆无法被遗忘，也可能成为负担，导致创伤后应激综合征等病理性疾病。

Yi said that the success would provide new thought in curing refractory pathological memories, such as chronic pain and addiction.
伊鸣称，此项研究的成功有望为慢性疼痛、成瘾等顽固的病理性记忆的治疗提供新思路。

>Virus can still be beaten
世界面临'第二个窗口期'

The chief of the World Health Organization said on Wednesday that the world has squandered the first window of opportunity to defeat COVID-19 in the past two months and should not squander the second one now.
世卫组织总干事谭德塞25日表示，过去两个月世界已经浪费了击败新冠肺炎疫情的第一个机会窗口，现在出现了第二个机会窗口，不要再浪费。

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the unprecedented measures taken by many countries have come at significant social and economic cost, such as closing schools and businesses, cancelling sporting events and asking people to stay home.
谭德塞说，目前许多国家都采取了空前的措施，像关闭学校和企业、取消体育赛事、要求人们待在家里，付出了巨大的社会和经济代价。

"We call on all countries who have introduced so-called 'lockdown' measures to use this time to attack the coronavirus," he said. "You have created a second window of opportunity."
"我呼吁现在采取了'封锁'措施的国家，利用这段时间来对抗病毒，你们创造了第二个机会窗口。"

He warned that the last thing any country needs is to open schools and businesses, only to be forced to close them again because of a resurgence.
