>Size 75 shoes for social distancing

A Romanian shoemaker has taken it upon himself to create a leather shoe that can remind people to maintain proper distance by elongating the toe to an impressive (and probably hard to walk in) size 75.
Grigore Lup, the man behindthe design, has been making leather shoes for 39 years, relying mostly on custom orders from theaters and opera houses.
After coronavirus hit, Lup's orders stopped coming in as live performances were canceled.
Now that restrictions are beginning to ease across Europe, Lup said when he went to the market he noticed that people were not practicing social distancing, which prompted the idea for the shoe.
"If two people wearing these shoes were facing each other, there would be almost one-and-a-half meters between them," he said.
Since debuting his creation, the cobbler has received five orders for the shoe, which cost $115 per pair.

>Planes restrict toilet access
Air passengers should have restricted access to toilets on flights as part of wide-ranging coronavirus safety recommendations, a UN agency has said.
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) guidelines also include limiting or suspending food and drink services on short-haul flights.
The new guidelines are designed to protect air passengers and workers from the Covid-19 virus as lockdown eases.
The ICAO stopped short of saying that passengers must be socially-distanced on planes, but it did say they should be seated separately "when occupancy allows it".

>Bike sales soar for virus
Cycling appears to have become the outdoors activity of choice for many Americans amid nationwide shutdowns from the coronavirus pandemic, as evidenced by the surge in bike sales in recent months.
Indeed, bicycle makers report spikes in sales so dramatic as people look for ways to get outside and to safely commute that they are struggling to keep up with demand and are now grappling with inventory shortages.
Basic adult bicycles, known in the industry as "leisure" bicycles, have seen double- and triple-digit sales increases, according to research from NPD Group.
Sales of adult leisure bikes were up 121 percent in March, according to its data.
Thank home-schooling, the closure of big office buildings and shuttered gyms for the sudden surge, NPD Group senior sports industry advisor Matt Powell said.
"It's a good recess activity and people are looking for exercise they can do and still social distance and that falls right into the bike business for sure."

>'No screaming' rule in parks
Thrill seekers in Japan will soon get to enjoy their favorite roller coasters again now that amusement parks around the country are reopening.
But there's one request they might struggle with: No screaming.
The East and West Japan Theme Park Associations have introduced a set of guidelines on how to ensure the safety of both guests and staff in the face of Covid-19.
Some items will likely take visitors by surprise.
Namely, a suggestion that theme parks encourage visitors riding outdoor attractions, including roller coasters, to avoid shouting or cheering - a tough ask, given how wild some of the country's rides are.
The guidelines also say that if it's difficult for some employees to wear masks due to the nature of their work - for example entertainers, such as haunted house staff - they should keep at least one meter away from visitors.
