>Japan site of UAE Mars probe

Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd on Monday launched a rocket carrying a Mars orbiter developed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
7月20日，日本三菱重工业株式会社用火箭将阿联酋研发的火星探测器发射升空。
At 6:58 am local time, the H2A rocket carrying the Hope explorer blasted off from the Tanegashima Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture, southwestern Japan.
当地时间6点58分，阿联酋"希望"号火星探测器在日本西南部鹿儿岛县的种子岛太空中心由H2A火箭运载发射升空。
The 1.5-ton Hope explorer, which measures 2.9 meters in length and 2.37 meters in width, was developed at Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre in Dubai. It is expected to reach orbit around Mars in 2021 to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of the UAE.

It is the fourth time for the Japanese company to use the H2A rocket to launch a foreign satellite into space.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, officials in Minamitane Town, where the launch pad is located, have closed areas normally reserved for people to watch a rocket launch.

Beijing lowered its public health emergency response from the second to the third level on Monday after the assessment of the capital's COVID-19 epidemic situation by experts, said Chen Bei, deputy secretary general of the Beijing municipal government, at a news conference on Sunday.
北京市人民政府副秘书长陈蓓在7月19日举行的新闻发布会上表示，该市新冠肺炎疫情防控形势经专家评估后，确定自7月20日起，公共卫生应急响应级别由二级调至三级。

>NYU opens Shanghai campus

As schools worldwide are deciding how to handle international students in the fall semester, amid the uncertainties posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, New York University (NYU) Shanghai announced it will host Chinese and China-based students from NYU and NYU Abu Dhabi in the upcoming term.

>Urumqi launches mass testing

Urumqi, capital of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, has launched mass novel coronavirus screening and restricted the movement of its residents in response to a new outbreak that rose to 46 cases as of Sunday.
新疆维吾尔自治区首府乌鲁木齐市已开展大规模新冠病毒检测，并对居民活动进行限制，以应对新暴发的疫情。截至7月19日，当地新冠肺炎病例数已增至46例。
The new outbreak is associated with a cluster of group activities and has developed at a relatively fast pace, said Rui Baoling, head of the city's disease control and prevention center.
乌鲁木齐市疾控中心主任芮宝玲表示，本轮疫情主要与一起聚集性活动有关，疫情发展较快。
Zhang Wei, head of Urumqi's health commission, said the city was carrying out a citywide, free testing campaign beginning in neighborhoods that have reported new cases and among close contacts or residents with the fever, and it would gradually extend the efforts across the entire city.

On Saturday, the National Health Commission organized 10 teams consisting of 200 medical workers from 10 provincial-level regions to help conduct the tests, which will boost the testing capacity in Urumqi.
