>Largest FDI recipient in 2020
中国成最大外资流入国
Global foreign direct investment plunged by 42 percent in 2020, a new report by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development showed on Sunday, while China bucked the trend, becoming the world's top recipient of investment flows.
1月24日，联合国贸易和发展会议发布的最新报告显示，2020年全球外国直接投资下降42%，但中国吸收外资逆势上涨，成为全球最大的外资流入国。
Flows to Europe dried up, tumbling by two-thirds, it noted.
报告显示，2020年欧洲的外资流入几近干涸，下降了三分之二。
A sharp decrease of 49 percent to $134 billion was also recorded in the US.

The decline in developing economies was relatively measured at 12 percent to an estimated $616 billion, the report showed.

FDI flows to China rose by 4 percent to $163 billion, making the country the world's largest recipient in 2020, followed by the US.

>11 miners rescued after 14 days
11名被困矿工成功升井
Eleven of 22 miners were rescued on Sunday after being trapped underground for two weeks due to a blast in a gold mine on Jan 10 in Qixia, under the city of Yantai in East China’s Shandong province.
1月10日，山东烟台栖霞市一金矿发生爆炸事故，22名矿工被困井下。1月24日，11名矿工在被困井下14天后成功升井获救。
The first miner was lifted from the mine at 11:13 am Sunday. The worker, in extremely weak condition, was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
1月24日11时13分，第一名被困矿工成功升井，他身体极度虚弱，被立即送到医院救治。
At 3:18 pm, the number of rescued workers reached 11.
15时18分左右，获救矿工人数达到11人。
Experts said the rescue of the 11 miners on Sunday was beyond their expectations, as only three days ago they had estimated that it would take rescuers at least 15 days to dig through the block to reach the trapped workers.
专家表示，1月24日11名矿工成功升井远远早于此前的预判。据1月21日他们的估算，要至少15天才能完成障碍物清理，打通救生通道。
In the early hours of Sunday, after clearing small pieces of debris, rescuers found an empty space that was only blocked by large pieces, said Xiao Wenru, chief engineer of the mine rescue center of the Ministry of Emergency Management. "The discovery greatly expedited the rescue process."

>Commemorative coin for Year of the Ox
央行发牛年贺岁纪念币
China's central bank will issue a commemorative coin on Friday to celebrate the coming Chinese zodiac Year of the Ox.
为庆祝即将到来的牛年，中国人民银行定于1月29日发行2021年贺岁普通纪念币一枚。
The round, copper-alloy coin is 27 mm in diameter and has a face value of 10 yuan, said the People's Bank of China. The central bank will issue a total of 150 million such coins.
中国人民银行表示，2021年贺岁普通纪念币面额为10元，直径为27毫米，材质为双色铜合金，发行数量为1.5亿枚。
The front side of the coin shows its face value and the year of issuance, while the reverse side features an ox raising its head.
纪念币正面图案为"10元"字样及年号"2021"，背面主景图案为一头抬头牛造型。
The Year of the Ox is the second zodiac sign in the Chinese zodiac cycle. It will start on Feb 12, 2021 and last until Jan 31, 2022.
生肖牛在十二生肖中排行第二位，牛年将从2021年2月12日持续到2022年1月31日。
The Chinese Zodiac is represented by 12 animals to record the years and reflect people's attributes, including the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and pig.
十二生肖由十二种动物代表，记录年份和人们的属相。这十二种动物包括鼠、牛、虎、兔、龙、蛇、马、羊、猴、鸡、狗和猪。

>Italy to take legal action

Italy will take legal action and step up pressure in Brussels against Pfizer Inc and AstraZeneca over delays in deliveries of COVID-19 vaccines with a view to securing agreed supplies, Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said on Sunday.
意大利外长路易吉•迪马约1月24日表示，意大利将就推迟交付新冠疫苗一事对辉瑞公司和阿斯利康采取法律行动，并在欧盟对两家药企施加压力，以确保疫苗按合同约定交付。
The aim was to get the companies to meet the vaccine volumes they had promised and not to seek compensation, Di Maio said on RAI state television.

Pfizer said last week it was temporarily slowing supplies to Europe to make manufacturing changes that would boost output.

Speaking on Italian TV on Sunday Italy's Deputy Health Minister Pierpaolo Sileri said the cut in supplies announced by Pfizer and AstraZeneca would put back vaccination of the over-80s in Italy by about four weeks and the rest of the population by about 6-8 weeks.
