Passengers in China with flights scheduled between Jan 28 and March 8 are able to request full refunds or reschedule their flights free of charge, the Civil Aviation Administration of China said on Tuesday. The move is meant to limit the movement of people in order to fight COVID-19 during China's Spring Festival holiday, an important time for families to reunite.
民航局1月26日发布通知，为做好春节期间新冠疫情防控工作，最大限度减少人员流动，购买1月28日至3月8日春节期间机票的旅客，均可办理免费退票或至少一次改期。
Spring Festival, or the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on Feb 12 this year.
春节是家家户户团聚的重要节日，今年的春节是2月12日。

>Frugality rule violators punished
八项规定落实情况公布
A total of 197,761 Chinese officials were punished in 2020 for violating frugality rules, the country's top anti-graft body said Tuesday. They were involved in 136,203 cases, according to a statement by the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.
中央纪委国家监委1月26日通报了2020年全国贯彻落实中央八项规定精神情况。2020年全年，全国共查处违反中央八项规定精神问题136203起，处理197761人。
In December alone, 26,922 officials involved in 18,505 cases were punished, including 125 at the prefecture level or equivalent and 1,316 at the county level or equivalent.

By the end of 2020, 1.335 billion people had social security cards in China, covering 95% of the population, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.

China has built the world's largest social security system in the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), according to a communique from the fifth plenary session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China released in October 2020. The country's basic medical insurance has covered over 1.3 billion people, and basic old-age insurance has covered nearly 1 billion.
