>Foreign trade growth rate hits 10-year high
进出口增速创10年新高

The volume of China's foreign trade, exports and imports all hit record highs in the first seven months of 2021, while their year-on-year growth rates set 10-year high compared with the same period in previous years, the Ministry of Commerce said Tuesday.
根据商务部8月10日发布的数据，1至7月，我国进出口、出口、进口规模均创历史同期新高，增速均为10年来新高。

The country's total imports and exports expanded 24.5 percent year on year to 21.34 trillion yuan from January to July.
海关总署日前发布数据显示，1至7月，我国进出口规模为21.34万亿元，同比增长24.5%。

Exports rose 24.5 percent from a year ago, while imports jumped 24.4 percent in the first seven months, data from the General Administration of Customs showed.
出口规模同比增长24.5%，进口规模同比增长24.4%。

In July, imports and exports rose 11.5 percent year- on- year to 3.27 trillion yuan, with the volume becoming the second highest in history only after that in June, the ministry said.
7月当月，进出口3.27万亿元，同比增长11.5%，规模仅次于6月，为历史单月次高。

China's exports to developed markets such as the United States, the European Union and Japan rose 22.6 percent in the first seven months.
前7月我国对美国、欧盟、日本等发达国家和地区传统市场出口合计增长22.6%。

Its trade with emerging markets continued to grow, with exports to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Latin America, Africa and other emerging markets rising 26.5 percent year on year, boosting the overall exports growth by 13 percentage points, the ministry said.
同时，与新兴市场贸易合作不断深化，对东盟、拉美、非洲等新兴市场出口合计增长26.5%，拉高整体出口增速13个百分点。

Despite the rapid growth in foreign trade, the economic recovery still faces uncertainties due to the pandemic and the risks in industrial and supply chains, the ministry said.
商务部表示，在进出口快速增长的同时，依然面临全球疫情持续演变、产业链供应链风险增多等因素，经济复苏存在很大不确定性。

>China decides to recall ambassador to Lithuania
中方决定召回驻立陶宛大使

China has decided to recall its ambassador to Lithuania and demanded the Lithuanian government recall its ambassador to China, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Tuesday. Recently, the Lithuanian government, in disregard of China's repeated representations and articulation of potential consequences, announced its decision to allow Taiwan authorities to open a "representative office" under the name of "Taiwan," the spokesman said.
外交部发言人8月10日表示，近一段时间，立陶宛政府不顾中方反复交涉、晓以利害，宣布允许台湾当局以"台湾"名义设立"代表处"。

The Lithuanian government's decision brazenly violates the spirit of the communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Lithuania, and severely undermines China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, the spokesman noted.
此举公然违背中立两国建交公报精神，严重损害中国主权和领土完整。

"The Chinese government expresses its categorical opposition to this move. China has decided to recall its ambassador to Lithuania and demanded the Lithuanian government recall its ambassador to China," the spokesman said.
中国政府对此表示坚决反对，决定召回中国驻立陶宛大使，并要求立政府召回驻中国大使。

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday said he was resigning amid mounting pressures from sexual harassment allegations and investigations as well as calls for resignation from other political figures.

The resignation would take effect in 14 days and Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul would become the governor for the rest of Cuomo's term.
