今天我们要分析讲解的词语是 participation 和 engagement。

大家都知道开会的场面，有些人是到场不发言，即不提问也不评论，这叫 participation without engagement。而那些在会上积极提问，参与对话互动并出谋献计的人则是积极的参与，用英语来说就是 they are fully engaged。虽然两个词都有“参与”的意思，不过含义不同。
另外这两个词还有各自独特的，不等同的意思。比如 engagement 还可以表示订婚或约会；而 participation 就不可以。
大家还可以通过节目中的例句学到以上两个词语做动词和形容词时的用法，做到举一反三，达到事半功倍的效果。
