Adele won two awards at the Brit Awards ceremony in London, which took place on 21 February 2012: best British female and best British album.

However, she was interrupted during her acceptance speech so that the final performers could be introduced. The audience booed as the speech was cut short and Adele made a rude hand gesture in protest. The organisers have now apologised to Adele.
