最近，关于易建联参加2006年NBA选秀的传闻引来各方关注。不过，易建联已于日前公开表示：他目前的定位是国家队，对他本人来讲，今年的世锦赛和亚运会至关重要，所以他不会参加本年度的NBA选秀。广东宏远俱乐部负责人也表示：“阿联参加NBA选秀是迟早的事，但现在可能时机不成熟。”同时，他重申了一贯的态度--宏远俱乐部不会阻止他参加NBA选秀。

报道中的draft是体育术语“选秀”，指（球类运动协会分配给所属各职业队）选拔新队员权的制度。拿NBA选秀为例，所有的美国球员都可以在他们大学毕业后自动进入NBA选秀。近年来，一些国际知名球员也可参加选秀活动，如姚明。NBA选秀分为两轮，各支球队挑选球员须依据一些预定的规则，这些球队选秀前参加一次抽签，以此决定每支球队的选秀顺序。

我们常见的draft除表示“汇票；草图”外，也指“征兵”，其本意是“the process or method of selecting individuals from a group”（从团体中选出若干人来承担某种职责的方法或过程），而draft作为“选秀”就源于这一含义。举两个例子：

We' re sending a fresh draft of nurses to the worst hit area.（我们新派遣一组护理人员开赴受灾最严重的地区。）

Extra police are being drafted in to control the crowds.（现正额外抽调警察去控制人群。）
