  streaker: 裸奔者
[ 2006-05-26 08:24 ]

streakers on the pitch

The German World Cup organization committee will fine streakers at World Cup Football matches 10,000 euros, in an effort to stamp out such behavior.

Streakers have become a major headache for game organizers. During last year's Federation Cup Frankfurt, Germany, several streakers made it onto the field.

有时,人们也常用短语like a streak(of lightning)来形容“迅速地,风驰电掣般地”,如:He disappeared round the corner like a streak of lightening.(他一拐弯转眼就不见了。)

She had a long streak of bad luck.(她遭遇了一连串的不幸。)

There is a streak of cruelty in his character.(他的性情有些残酷。)
