初看国外的Humour & Joke总有这样一个感觉：必须花点时间去理解，因为有很多诸如文化、表达方式和用语 ( 俚语、习语 ) 等上的不同，但是反复体味，与中国式笑话比起来，也值得一番体会。 就像这则笑话，讲述了Military English的习惯：把基本词汇放前。比如，我们一般会说“男士绿色长裤”，但是，在这里的要求是：长裤，绿色，男士。这则笑话的韵意在于最后的例子，melon表示的是瓜果，而water表示水，“melon，water”放在这里实在有点none sense，然而再考虑把“watermelon”组合一起时，才发现其实要表达的仅仅是“西瓜”而已。
