中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席习近平11月14日在江苏省南京市主持召开全面推动长江经济带发展座谈会并发表重要讲话。他强调，要谱写生态优先绿色发展新篇章，打造区域协调发展新样板，构筑高水平对外开放新高地，塑造创新驱动发展新优势，绘就山水人城和谐相融新画卷。
President Xi Jinping called for efforts to write a new chapter in prioritizing ecological conservation and boosting green development, create a new model for regional coordinated development, create a new height for high-level opening-up, foster advantages in innovation-led development, and draw a new painting featuring harmony between nature, the people and the cities. Xi, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks on Nov 14 in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, at a symposium he chaired on comprehensively advancing the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

长江是中华民族的母亲河，也是中华民族发展的重要支撑。推动长江经济带发展是党中央作出的重大决策，是关系国家发展全局的重大战略。从上游重庆到中游武汉，再到下游南京，围绕推动长江经济带发展，习近平总书记先后3次召开座谈会并发表重要讲话，明确提出“共抓大保护，不搞大开发”，为长江经济带发展指路定向、擘画蓝图。
“十四五”规划和二〇三五年远景目标建议提出：推动绿色发展，促进人与自然和谐共生。坚持绿水青山就是金山银山理念，坚持尊重自然、顺应自然、保护自然，坚持节约优先、保护优先、自然恢复为主，守住自然生态安全边界。深入实施可持续发展战略，完善生态文明领域统筹协调机制，构建生态文明体系，促进经济社会发展全面绿色转型，建设人与自然和谐共生的现代化。
长江经济带覆盖沿江11省市，横跨我国东中西三大板块，人口规模和经济总量占据全国“半壁江山”，生态地位突出，发展潜力巨大，应该在践行新发展理念、构建新发展格局、推动高质量发展中发挥重要作用。

【重要讲话】
要在严格保护生态环境的前提下，全面提高资源利用效率，加快推动绿色低碳发展，努力建设人与自然和谐共生的绿色发展示范带。
We should comprehensively improve the efficiency of resource utilization and accelerate green and low-carbon development on the premise of strictly protecting the ecological environment, and build the region into a demonstration area that advances green development and promotes harmonious coexistence between human and nature.
