“票房”英语怎么说？

2021年春节档以超78亿元的票房成绩收官，创下影史同期最高纪录。贾玲也凭借电影《你好，李焕英》，成为了中国影史上票房最高的女导演。

那和“票房”有关的英文该怎么说呢？

Box office指的是卖票的地方，不管是卖球票还是卖电影票的地方，都可以称作box office。

例如跟朋友约好去看电影，你可以说："I'll see you at the box office."那就是说，我们在卖票的地方见面。

此外，box office也可以用来指电影或球赛的"票房"，或是卖座的情况。例如：

Can you believe that? Scary Movie actually did very well at the box office.

你能相信吗？Scary Movie这部片子的票房卖座居然非常地好。

注意到了没，老美说一部电影的票房很好，不是用"The box office is very good."而是用a movie did very well (at the box office)，別搞错了。

如果要提到实际的票房收入，则不妨用took in或是grossed这两个动词(均为过去式)，例如：

Over the weekend, the top 10 movies grossed over 100 million at the box office.

排名前十名的电影周末票房总收入超过1亿美元。

或是"The box office of the top 10 movies took in over 100 million over the weekend."

“票房飘红”英文怎么说

当和朋友谈论电影票房时，如果想表达“票房飘红”，可以这么说：

I heard that movie is a big success at the box office.

还可以这么表达：The movie is a huge hit at the box office. huge hit指“巨大成功”。

形容某部剧是“热播剧”可以用“hit show”。

“票房惨淡”英文怎么说

如果票房惨淡，则可以搭配fail、flop、bomb等表示“失败”的动词：

This movie…failed / flopped / bombed at the box office（...票房一败涂地）.

这些票房失利的电影，中文常称作“票房毒药”，而英文则可以用failure（失败）、flop（失败）、bomb（失败）、disaster（悲剧）等词汇来表达：
