高温持续旱情加重，长江上中游水库加大出库流量为下游补水 Reservoirs replenish water supply in section of Yangtze River affected by drought

水利部副部长刘伟平17日在新闻发布会上表示，当前，长江流域水稻等秋粮作物正处于灌溉需水关键期，为遏制长江中下游干流水位快速下降趋势，确保沿线灌区和城镇取水，水利部决定实施专项行动，调度上中游水库群，加大出库流量为下游补水。

The reservoirs in the upper and middle reaches of China's longest river will discharge 1.48 billion cubic meters of water into the lower reaches, starting from Tuesday, Vice Minister of Water Resources Liu Weiping said on Wednesday.

水利部副部长刘伟平17日表示，长江流域水库群抗旱保供水联合调度专项行动自8月16日起实施，调度上中游水库群，加大出库流量为下游补水，计划补水14.8亿立方米。

Since August, reservoirs have replenished 5.3 billion cubic meters of water in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.

8月以来，水利部门已调度长江流域控制性水库群向中下游地区补水53亿立方米。

Water storage in large and medium-sized reservoirs in the Yangtze River basin is generally stable, and reservoir inflow levels are just 10 percent lower than during the same period last year.

目前，长江流域大中型水库蓄水情况总体较好，蓄水量较去年同期仅偏少一成。

Since July, most areas of the Yangtze River basin have experienced high temperatures, and there has been 45 percent less rainfall than the average over recent years.

7月以来，长江流域大部分地区持续高温少雨，降雨量较常年同期偏少四成五。

Drought has affected approximately 830,000 people and 12.32 million mu (821,333 hectares) of farmlands in Sichuan, Chongqing, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi and Anhui, according to the Ministry of Water Resources.

水利部统计显示，四川、重庆、湖北、湖南、江西、安徽6省市耕地受旱面积1232万亩，83万人因旱供水受到影响。
