And I'm Neil. We have a phrase that can be said to someone to express that you are in the same bad situation as they are. It's 'join the club'.

Join the club. 这个表达的字面意思是 “加入俱乐部”。

But we're not literally asking them to join a club. The similarity is that the person you are talking to shares the same situation. So, for example, if you told me that you had too much work and I also had too much work to do, I would reply by saying 'join the club'.
