In Shanghai, a man stabbed five policemen to death on Tuesday, in what has been claimed to be a revenge attack for his interrogation last year.
The suspect, surnamed Yang, stabbed a security guard at a police station in the Zhabei district of Shanghai and started a fire at the gate of the facility. Yang then charged into the building and assaulted nine officers with a knife.
Authorities say five police officers died of their injuries. The 28-year-old from Beijing was detained at the scene. He said he had been interrogated last October by police in the station, who had suspected him of stealing bicycles. He was unhappy about the interrogation and wanted revenge.
