Amy 想知道“transmission, transformation, transaction 和 transportation”这四个英语单词的区别和用法。这四个单词都是名词，也都含有同样的前缀"trans-"。 "Trans-"源于拉丁语，带有“转变，转换，变换，转移”等含义，所以这四个单词都意味着“发生了变化”。

我们先来看单词 transmission, 这个词是名词，意思是“发送，传播”，通常是指信号的发送和传播。比如：广播信号，电视信号。这个词在科学，医学研究中也经常出现，像病毒的传播等等。请听例句：

The transmission of the music concert is scheduled for 10pm tonight.
音乐会的转播被安排在今晚10点。

The researchers looked for ways to combat the transmission of the Ebola virus.
科研者们在寻找对抗埃博拉病毒传播的办法。

第二个单词 transformation, 也是名词，常见的意思是“变形，转变”。大家一定知道动画片《变形金刚》吧，它的英文名字是《Transformer》, 里面的变形金刚都能变成各种其它东西，它们都能 transform，也就是改变它们的形状和外形。 让我们来看看以下几个例子：

The transformation of Maria was amazing; she went from a country girl to supermodel.
玛丽亚的转变简直太神奇了，她一下子从农家少女变成了超模。

The local government invested a lot of money into the area and it underwent a big transformation.
地方政府在这个地区注入了很多资金，整个地区有了很大的转变。

第三个英文名词是 transaction，中文意思是“交易”，这是一个常用商务用语。比如从银行取钱，在网上卖买东西，投资付款等等都产生了交易，属于transaction。

Examples
I printed out my bank statement showing all the transactions within the last four weeks.
我把银行帐单打印出来了，上面有过去四周里所有的交易信息。

Many of the sales transactions were completed in private.
许多买卖交易都是私下完成的。

现在我们来看看最后一个单词 transportation, 也是名词，这个词的中文含义是“交通工具，运输，运输业务”。它是一个正式用语。请听例句：

The customer service helpdesk at the airport can arrange transportation to the city centre.
机场客服台可以帮助安排前往市中心的交通工具。请注意，在这里说 transport 意思也是一样的，但是用 transportation 感觉就更加正式。

The suitcases are loaded onto the conveyor belt, ready for transportation to the planes.
