William: Hello and welcome to Authentic Real English. I'm William Kremer.

Feifei: Hi, I'm Feifei.

William: You all right Feifei? What's wrong?

Feifei: Don't you remember?

William: Don't I remember... what?

Feifei: 我就知道!我就知道你肯定忘了!

William: Remember what?!

Feifei: 今天是我的生日。所有人都忘了,一整天没一个人祝我生日快乐。

William: Oh... I'm sorry... Happy birthday Feifei!

Feifei: It's too late, forget it.

William: Oh come on Feifei, how can I make it up to you?

Minted 有钱的

This man's minted!

Feifei: I don't know.

William: Oh, I've got an idea! How about I take you out to that expensive restaurant down the road and we can even get champagne!

Feifei: I do like champagne, but it's quite expensive. Are you sure you can afford it?

William: Of course! I got a pay rise so I am minted at the moment.

Feifei: You're minted?

William: Yeah, I'm feeling pretty rich at the moment: minted, M.I.N.T.E.D.

Feifei: 说一个人 minted, 意思就是这个人很有钱。请听一下例句。

A: Did you meet up with Steven last night?

B: Yeah, I went to his house, it's amazing! He is definitely minted.

A: Did you see Sarah's new car?

B: Yeah, her dad bought it for her. Sarah's family are absolutely minted.

William: So Feifei, are you ready to go to this restaurant?

Feifei: Yes, I'm ready.

William: I've got one question for you before we go…

Feifei: OK. What's the question?

William: How old are you again?

Feifei: I'm not telling you! I thought British people knew never to ask a lady's age!

William: Come on! You don't look a day over 21!

Feifei: No, I'm not going to tell you. I'm not going to tell you even after the glass of champagne you're about to buy me! 大家别忘了随时登录我们的网站,学习更多《地道英语》新表达。
