11月11日晚，第二十九届奥林匹克运动会吉祥物发布仪式在北京举行。吉祥物由5个分别以鱼、熊猫、奥运圣火、藏羚羊、京燕为创意的"中国福娃"组成。他们以“北京欢迎你”的谐音命名，分别被称为“贝贝、晶晶、欢欢、迎迎、妮妮”。
