北京启动直升机查罂粟

Beijing police used a helicopter Saturday for the 1st time to hunt for opium poppies being grown in the city's suburbs, Xinhua reported. The helicopter hovered for an hour around the mountainous areas in Yanqing District and sent video images of the ground back to headquarters. The 1st hunt found no poppy plantations in the region and the police plan to scour several other remote areas over the next 2 weeks, an official said.(See photo)

新华社报道，13日，北京首次动用警用直升机在城郊踏查罂粟。直升机在延庆山区上空飞行约1小时，并将采集到的画面传送给地面指挥部。据悉，首次勘察并未发现种植罂粟痕迹，警方计划未来2周在京郊区县继续进行勘察工作。(见图)
