在海上航行的轮船，常常会有一群白色的海鸥相伴，从而给一望无际的大海增添了无限生机和诗意。在赞叹之余，不禁想问：海鸥为什么总是喜欢追逐轮船呢？原来，海鸥跟着轮船可是好处多多呢！

Many people like to go to the sea and relax, while enjoying the waves, and the sights of ships coming and going, followed by lots of seagulls.. Because of the combination of the ship pushing through air and the water resistance, a current of wind develops over the ships. This tailwind lifts up the seagulls following the ship, making it easy for them to fly without getting tired. The ship also turns up fish and shrimp in its wake, which make an easy dinner for seagulls, who have keen eyesight. For seagulls, following the ships is really a smart move.
