The pupils of a primary school on Qingdao's Hongkong Road received the first batch of "smile wristlets" for the Olympic volunteers.

The Qingdao sailing sub-committee, along with the relevant government department, will distribute 300,000 to 50,000 sets of the wristlets to the residents till August 2008.

There are five colors of the wristlets: Red represents readiness to help others; Yellow -- civility and politeness; Black -- honesty and trustworthiness; Blue -- studying and forging ahead ; and Green -- environmental protection.

The obverse side of the wristlets bears the characters of "smile, promise", as well as the official emblem of the Olympics, while on the reserve side, it says "Your smile is the best name card of Qingdao."
