Phone Greetings 电话用语

I am a salesman in a trading company. My UK client calls me very often, and each time I pick up the phone, we say to each other: Hello, how are you? How are you doing today? And replies like: Fine. Thanks. Great. And you? I just want to know is there any other expressions I could use on the phone?

Our question this week comes from a salesman who does a lot of business over the phone with clients in the UK. Starting a conversation is important as it helps put people at ease. You need to say 'hello', introduce yourself and ask a question.

When you are on the phone you need to be polite and not too formal.

You could begin by enquiring about someone's well being or the weather.

Telephones can be very useful if your car breaks down

If they ask you then give a positive response and maybe comment on the weather or last night's football match. But don't go on for too long, there's business to be done!

Join Rob and Feifei as they practice their telephone etiquette.
