世界最大温度计现身上海世博园

在上海世博园风景如画的黄浦江边,一根硕大的温度计巍然矗立,随时给浦江两岸的世博园区“量体温”,入夜时分光芒四射、美不胜收,吸引了许多游客拍照留影。这根长达165米的温度计堪称世界最大的温度计,同时也是全球最高的气象信号塔。温度计位于浦西世博园的城市最佳实践区,在温度计醒目的红色刻度上,清晰显示了园区的实况温度。塔顶显示屏上,摄氏和华氏温度转换显示,每小时正点显示园区当天的最高最低温度。到了晚上,塔顶光芒四射的灯光根据天气情况开启“白色”或“紫色”。白色表示“好天气”(晴天、多云或阴天);紫色表示“坏天气”(下雨或下雪)。如果有灾害性天气来临,塔身屏幕还将显示相应灾害天气预警图案。

SHANGHAI - A massive thermometer at the Shanghai World Expo Park has been conveying the real-time weather information to visitors day and night.
The 165-meter Expo Thermometer, the highest meteorological signal tower in the world, is located in the Puxi Expo Park along the Huangpu River.
The thermometer-like tower, converted from a chimney in the 110-year-old Shanghai Nanshi Power Plant, displays the current temperature as well as the highest and lowest temperature of the day every hour.
At night, the tower top would change colors in accordance with weather conditions: white represents good weather, sunny or cloudy, while purple represents bad weather, rainy or snowy.
The park is also equipped with a meteorological observation station to provide good weather service.
