Painting seeks heritage status

A rock painting on Huashan Mountain in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region is the only 2016 Chinese candidate for World Heritage recognition. The painting dates to the ancient Luoyue people of the Zhuang nationality and has a history of 1,800 to 2,500 years. To date, China has invested RMB150m in the application process and will continue to promote the task by delivering its formal application in both English and Chinese, promoting environmental preservation across the heritage area.
