Americans embraced sharing their homes and cars, creating billion-dollar industries. Nannies are next. Nanny-sharing arrangements - where a nanny cares for children from two families on a regular basis - can both allow families who couldn't afford a nanny to hire one and lift nannies' economic fortunes, allowing them to make thousands of dollars more a year than they would working for just one family. Nanny Lane began rolling out its nanny-sharing service earlier this year and is among a portfolio of sites operated under CareGuide. John Philip Green, who calls himself the "chief executive dad" of CareGuide, says he could foresee the site bringing the sharing economy to child care.

A jet belonging to the Qatari royal family is up for sale - although it's more like a flying mansion. The Boeing 747-8 comes complete with multiple rooms and is decked out in a regal blue, white and gold color scheme. The plane was originally intended for a whopping 467 passengers, but the royal family took out most of the seating to maximize space, so it now seats 76 passengers and 18 crew members. The plane has been flown for only 403.2 hours. It's been priced at a mind-boggling $555 million. Inside, there are a vast dining room-cum-boardroom, several lounges and a huge bedroom suite with a very luxurious-looking double bed. And there are 10 toilets and even a medical center on board.

>Film ushers era of comedies

Romantic comedies have not received a lot of love at the box office lately, but that changed with "Crazy Rich Asians." The Warner Bros film opened at $5 million on Wednesday and brought in $34 million in just five days. The release of the film stars a predominantly Asian cast. It is based on the 2013 best-selling novel of the same name by Kevin Kwan. Regardless of box office performance, Kwan said "Crazy Rich Asians" is already a success because of what it represents. It shows how far Hollywood has come from the outdated Asian caricatures showcased in past rom-coms. "We pave the way, we create new narratives, we shatter the stereotypes and we move forward," he added.

>Big data aids dorm selection

Nanjing University has collected incoming freshmen's living habits, hobbies and other characteristics through online questionnaires for the second year, providing big data for precisely arranging for compatible students to live together. The university launched the online questionnaires in early August, containing not only survey options, such as study and rest timetables, air conditioner preferences and personal hygiene habits, but also open-ended questions such as interests and hobbies. The university assured them that the data collected would only be used for reference in the allocation of dormitories. The university started using big data in distributing dormitories for freshmen last year. A recent survey showed that students lived together more harmoniously due to the new allocation system. By avoiding big personal differences in initial allocation of dormitories through big data analysis, dormitory members can better learn from and influence each other, and get along more quickly, said Gong Yue, who is in charge of student affairs at the university.
南京大学已连续第二年通过网络问卷调查收集新生的生活习惯、爱好等特征，为精准地将意趣相投的学生安排在一起生活提供大数据。8月初，南大开始进行网络问卷调查，不仅有作息时间、空调使用偏好和个人卫生习惯等调查选项，还有兴趣爱好等开放性问题。该校向学生保证，收集的数据只在宿舍分配时参考使用。南大从去年开始利用大数据为新生分配宿舍。最近进行的一项调查显示，得益于新的分配制度，学生们共同生活的和睦度有所提高。南大学工处处长龚跃说，通过大数据分析避免宿舍初始分配时个体差异过大，宿舍成员间能更好地相互学习、相互影响、更快融洽相处。
