>More emphasis on PE scores
多地增加体育中考分值
Most provincial-level regions in China will increase the weighting of physical education in the high school entrance exam, or zhongkao, starting next year, the Ministry of Education said on Monday.
12月14日，教育部体育卫生与艺术教育司司长王登峰表示，明年起绝大多数省份体育中考分值将增加。
Wang Dengfeng, director of the ministry's Department of Physical, Health and Arts Education, said PE tests are currently mandatory in the zhongkao in all provincial-level regions, with scores ranging from 30 to 100 points.
王登峰说，目前全国已经实现体育中考全覆盖，分值从30分-100分不等。
Based on recent reports the ministry received from local education authorities, most regions plan to significantly increase PE scores in the zhongkao next year, which marks an important development in reforming the evaluation of school physical education, he said.
最近一段时间，教育部陆续接到各地报来的情况，从2021年起，绝大多数省份体育中考分值都会增加且幅度较大。王登峰表示，这是学校体育教育评价改革的重要一步。
In October, the general offices of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council issued a guideline on strengthening and improving physical education in schools. The guideline asked education authorities to gradually increase PE scores in the zhongkao and improve the content and method of testing.
今年10月，中共中央办公厅和国务院办公厅印发《关于全面加强和改进新时代学校体育工作的意见》，要求教育部门逐渐提高体育中考分值，改进体育测试内容和方式。

>Stricter salary cap set for CSL
新赛季中超限薪令出台
The Chinese Football Association Monday announced it will impose a stricter salary cap on the Chinese Super League for the 2021 to 2023 seasons.
12月14日，中国足协宣布，2021-2023赛季中超将实施更严格的薪酬限额。
The soccer governing body regulates that each CSL club's total expenditure each season should not exceed 600 million yuan, including money spent on youth training and women's soccer.
中国足协规定，中超俱乐部单赛季支出不得超过6亿元人民币，这其中包括青训费用和女足费用；
The new salary cap on domestic players is 5 million yuan before tax, while the salary cap on foreign players is 3 million euros before tax.
中超国内球员单赛季薪酬不得超过税前500万元人民币，中超外援单赛季顶薪为税前300万欧元。
The numbers are much smaller than CFA's current salary cap.
新的薪酬限额较中国足协目前执行的薪酬限额要小得多。
After the 2019 season, the CFA introduced a salary cap of 3 million euros after tax on foreign players. The salary cap for domestic players is now at 10 million yuan before tax, or 12 million yuan for China internationals.
2019赛季后，中国足协规定，外籍新签球员薪水不超税后300万欧元，国内球员新签合同最高不超过税前1000万人民币，入选国家队球员可上浮20%。
"The CFA will punish any club or player who violates the regulation. It doesn't matter how famous or influential they are," said Chen Xuyuan, the CFA president.
中国足协主席陈戌源表示："如果违反限薪令，不管是谁，哪家俱乐部，不管多有名，牌子有多大，一经查实，坚决查处。"

>Electoral College confirms Biden
选举人团确认拜登胜选
The US Electoral College cast votes on Monday for a new president based on the 2020 election results, making Democrat Joe Biden's White House victory official.
12月14日，美国选举人团按照2020年大选各州选举结果投下选举人票，确认民主党总统候选人乔•拜登赢得美国大选。
The former vice president has surpassed 270 electoral votes needed to clinch the White House after California, which has 55 Electoral College votes, the most of any state, put Biden over the top on Monday evening.
美东时间12月14日晚，拥有最多选举人票的加利福尼亚州选举人团将55票投给了拜登，至此，拜登已取得胜选所需的270张选举人票。
Those results will be certified and sent to Congress, the National Archives and to the courts.

Congress will certify the results of the Electoral College vote on Jan 6 as the next step in the presidential transition process.

Joe Biden said "the rule of law, our Constitution and the will of the people prevailed" after his presidential election victory was confirmed by the US Electoral College. Biden declared it time to "turn the page, to unite, to heal."

>US starts COVID-19 vaccine rollout
美国开始新冠疫苗接种
The US started its COVID-19 vaccine rollout nationwide on Monday as the death toll of the pandemic in the country topped 300,000.
12月14日，美国开始在全国范围内接种新冠疫苗。美国因新冠大流行造成的死亡人数已超过30万。
Shortly before 9:30 am local time, Sandra Lindsay, an ICU nurse at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens, New York, was among the first people in the country to get the vaccine of American drugmaker Pfizer in partnership with German company BioNTech.
