China has added 15 provincial-level regions to a pilot system that supports cross-provincial settlement of outpatient bills, bringing the number of such regions to 27, the National Healthcare Security Administration said on Monday.

All primary and secondary school students in China will, in principle, be barred from bringing mobile phones to school, the Ministry of Education announced on Monday. The notice aims to protect students' eyesight, make sure they focus on their studies and prevent them from becoming addicted to the internet and online games.
If students must have a mobile phone at school, a special request should be submitted to school authorities along with written consent from their guardians, said the ministry.
Once the request is approved, students should hand in their mobile phones to school authorities upon arrival. The phones will be kept together and should by no means be allowed into classrooms.

Schools should not assign or ask students to do homework via cellphones, and they should set up public phones and teacher hotlines for communication between parents and students, it added.
Schools should set out rules for the management of cellphones and designate people to take custody of mobile phones brought to schools, it said.

>Luxury market positive in China
China has become the only country in the global luxury market to experience positive growth last year, CCTV reported on Sunday.
Luxury consumption in the Chinese mainland is expected to buck the trend to report a 48% yearly increase to 346 billion yuan in 2020, while the transaction volume of global personal luxury market witnessed a 23% drop year-on-year.
For the first time, Chinese mainland has become the world's largest market for Swiss watch exports last year.
And China is projected to become the world's largest luxury market by 2025, the report added.
The country's rapid development of e-commerce platforms and favorable duty-free policies all contributed to the booming market, said the report, and last year Chinese consumers traveled less and spent more locally due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
