State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi Sunday answered questions from journalists from home and abroad on China's foreign policy and foreign relations on the sidelines of the fourth session of the 13th National People's Congress.
3月7日下午，十三届全国人大四次会议举行记者会，国务委员兼外交部长王毅就"中国外交政策和对外关系"相关问题回答中外记者提问。
China is ready to work with the United States to return bilateral relations to the right track of healthy and steady growth, Wang said.
谈及中美关系，他表示，中方愿与美方一道，共同推动中美关系"辞旧迎新"，实现健康稳定发展。
It is not surprising that there is competition between China and the United States as their interests are intertwined, but the two sides should have healthy competition on the basis of fairness and equity.
中美之间在利益交融中出现竞争并不奇怪，关键是要在公平公正基础上良性竞争。
China opposes "vaccine nationalism," rejects any "vaccine divide" or any attempt to politicize vaccine cooperation, Wang said.
王毅还表示，我们反对搞"疫苗民族主义"，不接受制造"免疫鸿沟"，更抵制任何把疫苗合作政治化的企图。
China has carried out its largest emergency humanitarian action since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, making contributions to the anti-coronavirus efforts of the world.

>Foreign trade sustains growth momentum
前2月外贸实现'开门红'
The country's total imports and exports of goods expanded 32.2 percent year on year to 5.44 trillion yuan in the January-February period, according to the General Administration of Customs.
海关总署3月7日发布数据显示，前2个月，我国货物贸易进出口总值5.44万亿元，比去年同期增长32.2%。
The growth rate is in a sharp contrast with a virus-induced slump of 9.7 percent during the same period a year earlier. The substantial increase in foreign trade in the first two months was partly due to a low base last year, said customs administration spokesman Li Kuiwen.
海关总署新闻发言人李魁文表示，受新冠肺炎疫情影响，去年前2个月进出口同比下降9.7%，较低的基数是今年前2个月增幅较大的原因之一。
"Yet even compared with the same period in 2018 and 2019, China's foreign trade in the January-February period this year logged growth of about 20 percent."
"但即使与2018、2019年同期相比，今年前2个月进出口增速也有20%左右。"他说。
Notably, export growth soared to 50.1 percent while imports rose 14.5 percent in yuan terms. The Association of Southeast Asian Nations remained China's largest trading partner during the period, with the combined trade volume rising 32.9 percent year-on-year.
具体来看，前2个月，我国出口增长50.1%；进口增长14.5%。从贸易伙伴看，今年前2个月，东盟继续保持我国第一大贸易伙伴地位。我国与东盟贸易总值增长32.9%。
Other major trading partners, such as the European Union, the United States and Japan, saw trade volumes with China surge 39.8 percent, 69.6 percent and 27.4 percent, respectively.
紧随其后的欧盟、美国、日本，与我国进出口总值分别增长39.8%、69.6%和27.4%。
China's foreign trade with countries involved in the Belt and Road amounted to 1.62 trillion yuan in the first two months, up 23.9 percent year-on-year.
同期，我国对"一带一路"沿线国家合计进出口1.62万亿元，增长23.9%。

>Fiscal policy to be more sustainable

China's fiscal policy will remain proactive but to be more sustainable this year, focusing on promoting its efficiency and quality, reflecting a "people-centered" principle, Finance Minister Liu Kun said at a news conference on Friday.
财政部部长刘昆3月5日在发布会上说，积极的财政政策要提质增效、更可持续，体现了以人民为中心的思想。
The fiscal policy will remain basically stable, without any sharp shift, Liu said.

>Coronavirus variant 'increasing exponentially'

Some Americans are ditching personal responsibility and forgoing masks, even though the highly contagious B.1.1.7 variant has spread to at least 46 states and Washington, DC.
