>China's manufacturing tops the world
我国制造业增加值连续11年世界第一

China's value-added manufacturing output has ranked first in the world since 2010, according to Xiao Yaqing, minister of industry and information technology. The added industrial value of the Chinese manufacturing sector grew from 16.98 trillion yuan in 2012 to 26.6 trillion in 2020. The figure gives Chinese manufacturers a 30 percent share of the global total-added industrial value, Xiao told a press conference on Monday.
工信部部长肖亚庆9月13日在新闻发布会上表示，自2010年以来，我国制造业增加值已连续11年位居世界第一。2012年到2020年，我国制造业增加值由16.98万亿元增长到26.6万亿元，占全球比重近30%。

China also boasts the world's most comprehensive industrial system with 41 major industrial categories, he said.
肖亚庆说，我国工业拥有41个大类，是世界上工业体系最为健全的国家。

More than 40 percent of the outputs of Chinese-manufactured products rank top in the world among 500 major industrial goods.
在500种主要工业品中，超过四成产品的产量位居世界第一。

In more and more key industries, including new energy vehicles and photovoltaic equipment, China leads the world, with high-end brands entering the global playing field.

第18届中国-东盟博览会闭幕

The 18th China-ASEAN Expo and the concurrent China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit concluded Monday in Nanning, capital of South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
第18届中国—东盟博览会和中国—东盟商务与投资峰会9月13日在广西南宁落下帷幕。

A total of 179 deals worth a record-high 300 billion yuan were signed during the expo. The total value marks an increase of 13.7 percent over the previous edition, Wang Lei, secretary-general of the expo secretariat, said at the closing ceremony.
中国—东盟博览会秘书处秘书长王雷在闭幕新闻发布会上说，本次盛会签约仪式共组织签订合作项目179个，总投资额超3000亿元，较上届增长13.7%，签约项目总投资额创历届之最。

A total of 148 economic and trade promotional activities and 26 high-level forums took place during this year's expo, covering industrial chains, industrial capacity cooperation, customs and health.
本届盛会共举办148场经贸活动，东博会框架下系列高层论坛26个，涵盖产业链、产能、海关、卫生等多个领域。

With an exhibition area of more than 100,000 square meters, this year's expo set up 5,400 booths for offline exhibitors. Over 1,500 enterprises participated in the in-person exhibitions.

The exhibition area for foreign countries was about 20,000 square meters, up 13.4 percent year-on-year.

>Giant robotic arm debuts at WRC
空间站机械臂亮相机器人大会

The Chinese space station's giant robotic arm, developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, was displayed at the 2021 World Robot Conference in Beijing.
在北京举行的2021世界机器人大会上，中国航天科技集团公司研发的大型空间站机械臂亮相。

The robotic arm was used to ensure the safety and operation of the space station and assist taikonauts in extravehicular activities.
机械臂用于保障空间站安全与运营、辅助航天员出舱活动。

It drew praise from the Shenzhou-12 crew - Nie Haisheng, Liu Boming and Tang Hongbo. "Robot technologies are changing our ways of production and life - the robotic arm has helped us complete two extravehicular missions," the taikonauts said from China’s space station at the opening ceremony of the 2021 WRC.
本届世界机器人大会的开幕式上，神舟十二号飞行乘组的三位航天员聂海胜、刘伯明、汤洪波从中国空间站发来祝福："机器人技术正在深刻改变着人类的生产和生活方式，中国空间站机械臂也助力我们完成了两次出舱任务。"

According to Wang Youyu, chief designer of the robotic arm system, the device is 10 meters long and very flexible.

Its central processing unit can generate algorithms based on taikonauts’ demands. Therefore, the robotic arm can act as a transportation tool to assist taikonauts during extravehicular activities, Wang said, adding it can also grip, transfer and install various devices on cargo spacecraft.
其中央控制器可以根据航天员需要自动生成规划算法，能够在航天员出舱活动中扮演运输工具的角色，为其在舱外的活动提供帮助，还能对后续货运飞船上的各类设备进行抓取、转移和安装。

>British 18-year-old makes tennis history

Emma Raducanu beat fellow teenager Leylah Fernandez 6-4 6-3 in the US Open in New York to end Britain's 44-year wait for a women's Grand Slam singles champion.
