>Flight carrying 132 crashes in Guangxi
东航载132人客机在广西坠毁

All-out search and rescue efforts are ongoing after a China Eastern Airlines aircraft carrying 132 people crashed in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region in the afternoon－ending China's civil aviation safety record lasting more than 4,000 days.
3月21日下午，东方航空一架载有132人的客机在广西境内坠毁，搜索和救援工作随后全力展开。在此之前我国民航已安全飞行超过4000天，创世界纪录。

The 6.8-year-old Boeing 737-800NG was traveling from Kunming, capital of Yunnan province, to Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province. Air traffic controllers lost track of the plane over Wuzhou, Guangxi.
坠毁客机为波音737-800，机龄6.8年，在执飞昆明至广州任务过程中，于广西梧州上空失联。

The flight was carrying 123 passengers and nine crew members.
机上共有旅客123人、机组9人。

>China stems groundwater overexploitation
地下水超采综合治理取得成效

The overexploitation of groundwater has been eased in China in recent years amid the country's efforts to reduce exploitation and increase water replenishment, the Ministry of Water Resources said.
水利部表示，近年来我国地下水超采综合治理和生态补水工作取得成效。

In 2020, the country extracted 89.25 billion cubic meters of groundwater, down 24.2 billion cubic meters from 2012, data from the ministry showed.
统计显示，2020年我国地下水开采总量为892.5亿立方米，较2012年减少约242亿立方米。

At the end of 2021, the overall level of shallow groundwater in the controlled area of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region rose 1.89 meters from the same period in 2018, while that of deep confined water climbed 4.65 meters on average.
2021年12月底，京津冀治理区浅层地下水水位较2018年同期总体回升1.89米；深层承压水水位平均上升4.65米。

Nearly 8 billion cubic meters of groundwater had been replenished by rivers and lakes as of 2021, the ministry said.
经测算，通过河湖生态补水累计入渗回补地下水近80亿立方米。

>Chinese relay athletes to receive Olympic medals

Team China was identified as the third place finisher of the men's 4x100m relay at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, according to the official website of IAAF on Monday. The website of the governing body of the world's athletics added Olympic bronze winner to the honors summaries of China's Su Bingtian, Xie Zhenye, Wu Zhiqiang and Tang Xingqiang, who finished fourth at the final race with 37.79 seconds in Tokyo in August 2021. Italy, Great Britain and Canada were the top three.

Despite the protracted COVID-19 pandemic and increasingly complex global environment, foreign companies are casting a vote of confidence in the Chinese economy as they continue to see opportunities amid the country's opening-up efforts.

The 2022 China Business Climate Survey Report released by the American Chamber of Commerce in China and PwC said around 60 percent of surveyed companies said they posted profits in China in 2021.
