A self-portrait by Vincent Van Gogh was recently uncovered at the National Galleries of Scotland, hidden for more than a century on the back of a painting called Head of a Peasant Woman.

An independent expert on van Gogh said that, based on materials about the new discovery that the museum posted online, he felt confident that the hidden picture was a real self-portrait by the artist.

It's not clear yet whether it will be possible to uncover the hidden self-portrait, but that doesn't mean you can't see it.

An X-ray image of the ghostly portrait will be part of an upcoming exhibit, viewable using a special lightbox.

A vast majority of van Gogh's self-portraits were painted during his stay in Paris.

He was short on money, so he reused canvases that he had used for other works in the Netherlands.

Because he also could not afford to hire models, he frequently turned the mirror on his own face.

Asia's first professional freight hub airport, the fourth of its kind in the world, saw its first flight take off from Central China's Hubei province on Sunday.

Located in the city of Ezhou, Huahu Airport has a 1.5-hour flight circuit covering China's five national-level urban clusters, including the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions.

The airport serves passengers in the daytime and transports cargo at night.

Departing from Ezhou, passengers and goods can reach the whole country overnight, and overseas destinations in two days.

Huahu Airport is set to become a first-class aviation freight transport hub, forming a "dual-hub" for passenger and cargo aviation in Central China, along with Wuhan Tianhe Airport, which is less than 100 kilometers away.

By 2025, the airport aims to serve an annual passenger throughput of one million visits and a cargo and mail throughput of 2.45 million tons.

A Texas legislators' probe of the Uvalde school shooting that left 21 dead blamed "systemic failures" and poor leadership for contributing to the death toll, a report released on Sunday found.

The Texas House of Representatives committee investigation marked the most exhaustive attempt so far to determine why it took more than an hour for police and other officers to confront and kill the 18-year-old gunman at Robb Elementary School on May 24.

The bottom line, the report found, is that "law enforcement responders failed to adhere to their active shooter training, and they failed to prioritize saving the lives of innocent victims over their own safety."
