> Word of the day丨the APSTAR-6E satellite

China's first all-electric propulsion telecommunication satellite, the APSTAR-6E, officially commenced operational services on July 15 following in-orbit and ground system technical review in Hong Kong, according to the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), the satellite's developer.
据中国航天科技集团消息，国产首颗全电推通信卫星——亚太6E卫星7月15日在中国香港圆满通过了卫星在轨技术验收评审和地面系统最终技术验收评审，标志其完成在轨测试，正式投入运营。

亚太6E卫星由中国航天科技集团五院采用东方红三号E卫星平台研制，是东方红三号E卫星平台的首发星。卫星配置25个Ku用户波束和3个Ka信关站波束，通信容量约30Gbps，在轨寿命15年。

亚太6E卫星成功投入运营，对实现卫星平台高承载、低成本，提升我国通信卫星平台国际竞争力，以及实现卫星全自主轨道提升和长期在轨自主工作，提升我国卫星平台智能自主水平，均有重要意义。
