追尾 pileup

美国加利福尼亚州中部一段高速公路上周发生大雾，造成一起100多辆车追尾的严重交通事故，至少两人在事故中死亡，数十人受伤。那么，“追尾”怎么说呢？

More than 100 cars and trucks are involved in the massive pileup on Highway 99 just south of Fresno as patches of dense fog obscured visibility on the heavily traveled roadway, the California Highway Patrol officials Paul Solorzano Jr.said.

加州高速公路巡逻局官员保罗•索洛萨诺说，出事路段交通繁忙，属于弗雷斯诺市以南的第99号高速公路。当时雾很大，能见度很低，造成100多辆车严重追尾。

这里，pileup 表示 “连环相撞，多车追尾”，属于非正式用语，massive pileup 表示“大规模追尾”。
