New measures are to be introduced to prevent the civil aviation industry from developing too quickly and ensure the country’s air safety, said Li Jiaxiang, the newly appointed acting minister of the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC).

According to official figures, there have been no major aviation accidents in China for 37 months, or 9.93 million flight hours, a record for the industry.

民航总局代局长李家祥说，今年将采取新措施避免航空工业发展过快，并确保航空运输的安全。官方数据显示，中国民航航空运输已连续安全飞行三十七个月、九百九十三万小时，创造了中国民航历史上最长的安全纪录。

这里，航空安全表示为“air safety”，air 原意指空气，此处指“航空的”，用作形容词，用来修饰名词safety。另外，“flight safety”也表示航空安全，飞行安全的意思。
