 在一个旁观者看来，获得自由、走出监狱应该是每个囚犯的愿望。然而当Michael问Haywire 想不想离开监狱时，Haywire
却表示了犹豫和疑惑：Halfway houses, psych visits, meds, checking in with a P.O., urine
tests, keeping a job... No. Why you ask?
在他看来，监狱外的一切都让他感到烦躁，他不想过那种生活。Haywire已经开始被制度化了，但是他仍然不愿意在监狱里被人摆布。当狱警命令他吃药的时候，他吃下了药片，但在狱警走后他又把药吐了出来，他不想被这种隐形的手铐束缚。最后，他也终于越狱了。
