教育部日前发布通知，要求做好2013年全国硕士学位研究生招生工作。通知要求，狠抓考试安全，严厉打击考试舞弊。有条件的地区可统一配备考试文具、考场电子挂钟和指纹识别仪等。

Authorities are instructed to provide exam takers with standard stationery and make fingerprint identification instruments available in areas where the financial situation allows.
经济条件允许的地区可以为考生提供统一标准的文具，并在考场配备指纹识别仪。
Standard stationery（统一文具）和fingerprint identification instrument（指纹识别仪）都是为了能够验明考生的身份，防止学生cheat（作弊）。除此之外，各地考场还将配备metal detector（金属探测器）以防止high-tech telecommunications equipment for cheating（用高科技通讯设备作弊）。
近几年，不少国家级考试都被曝出cheating scam（作弊）、identity theft（冒名顶替），以及exam leak（考试漏题）等新闻。
