报道中的rave review可以解释为“高度好评”。在这里，rave不再是我们日常所见的“咆哮、胡言乱语”，而是指an extravagantly favorable criticism（狂热赞扬），常用来修饰praise，criticism或review，举个例子：The young director won rave reviews for his film.（那青年导演执导的影片赢得了热烈的好评。）

另外，rave也可单独作为名词来指代“热情赞扬”，或用作动词，如上面的例句也可改写为“The young director won raves for his film”，或者是，“People were raving about the young director's film”。
