报道中的“appearance fee”指的就是“出场费”。“Appearance”表示“出场、露面”时，常和动词make搭配，如：to make one's first appearance in public（首次公开露面）。

此外，“appearance”也可表示“体面、门面”，如：for appearances' sake（为了保持体面）、to keep up appearances（保持体面）。
