Persimmon is a typical winter fruit in China's capital city. In the past, people often froze mature persimmons to keep them in storage. By putting the persimmons in slightly warm water to let the ice thaw, the flesh inside would become soft and sweet making them a delicious snack for any occasion. Persimmon trees are still easy to find in Beijing. When matured, the fruits hanging on the trees look like red lanterns. [Photo/IC]

柿子是北京冬天很常见的一种水果。在过去,人们经常把熟柿子冻起来储存。把冻柿子放在温水当中化冻,里面的果肉就会变得又软又甜,不管什么时候吃都很好吃。柿子树在北京随处可见,到了柿子成熟的季节,满树的柿子看起来就像一个个红灯笼。
