2月1日，全球搜索引擎巨头google公布了第四季度收益情况，google实现季度收入翻番，净利润暴涨七倍多，股票上涨了9个百分点，大大超出了华尔街的预期。外电报道如下：Web search leader Google Inc. on Tuesday posted a sharply higher quarterly profit as revenue doubled, blowing away Wall Street expectations on strong Web search advertising.
Shares in Google jumped 9 percent to a record high after the company reported net income shot up more than seven times from a year earlier, beating estimates by a wide margin.
The company reported net income of $204.1 million, or 71 cents a share, in the fourth quarter, compared with $27.3 million, or 10 cents a share, a year earlier.
Shoot up在此表示“暴涨，迅速生长”，此外还有“射出，喷出，发芽”等含义。在美俚中，shoot up还可表示“胡乱开枪制造恐怖”或“注射麻醉剂”。
