A cross-eyed opossum (see photo) in Germany called Heidi who is not yet even on public display has become an Internet hit, winning more than 65,000 admirers on social networking website Facebook, AFP reported. Heidi is thought to be 2 and a half years old, and was abandoned outside an animal shelter in North Carolina, the US and has been in Leipzig zoo since May, 2010. The zoo believes Heidi's eye problem may be to do with her diet before she was abandoned, or because she is overweight, leading to fat deposits behind her eyes.

据法新社报道，德国一只名叫海蒂的斗鸡眼负鼠(见图)尚未在动物园公开露面就已成了网络红人，目前它在"脸谱"社交网站上拥有超过6.5万的粉丝。海蒂约2岁半，当初被遗弃在美国北卡罗来纳州的一家动物收养所门口，去年5月时被转移到德国莱比锡动物园。动物园方面认为海蒂的斗鸡眼大概和它被遗弃前的饮食有关，也有可能因为过于肥胖，眼后脂肪沉积而导致。
