One of China's major airlines has allegedly asked a group of
resigning pilots to draw lots to
determine which two pilots would be permitted to leave the company.
The story began last November when 10 pilots at the Jiangsu branch of China
Eastern Airlines submitted resignation letters in connection with a pay dispute.
“抽签、抓阄”,日常我们并不陌生,其相应英文表达为“draw lots”、“cast lots”,或者“to choose by
lot”。 The lot fell on me to pay the bill.(我抽到签,所以由我来买单。)
去做某事”可借用句型“It fell to sb.'s lot”,如:So it fell
to my lot to tell him the bad news about his
