“抽签”定去留

因不愿解除与飞行员的劳务合同，东航公司日前再次招致网民质疑。一年前的“东航10机长辞职事件”有了终审判决 ——
东航公司应允许10名机长“走人”。只是，据悉，公司每年只有两个流动名额，最终决定去留还得靠抽签。

The story began last November when 10 pilots at the Jiangsu branch of China
Eastern Airlines submitted resignation letters in connection with a pay dispute.
“抽签、抓阄”，日常我们并不陌生，其相应英文表达为“draw lots”、“cast lots”，或者“to choose by
lot”。此外，“lot”也可以指“抽签的结果”，如：The lot fell on me to pay the bill.（我抽到签，所以由我来买单。）
此外，“lot”在俚语中可指“运气、命运”。日常会话中“命定…去做某事”可借用句型“It fell to sb.'s lot”，如：So it fell
to my lot to tell him the bad news about his
wife.（这么说来，关于他妻子的不幸消息非我去通报不可了。）
